About Me:

I am one lucky woman. I met the man I would marry when I moved across the street from him at the age of 14. I am a mother to a beautiful, smart, and hysterical daughter and two handsome dogs. I live on the Jersey Shore, and think there is no better place to live, work, and play!

My main profession in life is teaching. It’s the thing I’ve wanted to do since I was 5 years old, and I get to do what I love every day. I have a million stories about the things I have seen and heard, and someday when I retire (which is quite a ways off) I am going to write one great book about it. I won’t do it now because, like I said, I actually love my job.

My “non-paying” profession in life is what brings me to have this blog. I am an unwilling participant (usually) in noticing all things ridiculous and funny, and a magnet for odd people and situations. The fact that I am not exactly what you would call a “people-person” makes it even more amusing. I’ve been told that I tell a good (and usually snarky) story, so why not just have a blog and put it out there. I need an outlet in life, and this is it.

I hope you enjoy reading my blog and much as I enjoy writing it.

  1. Hey VFH, thanks so much for the follow .. . and good luck here. Your life sounds s-w-e-e-t; living on the Jersey shore is special all right. I grew up on Long Island Sound – not quite as majestic, but at least it was salt water!

  2. Thanks Moe! Love your blog…and living by any salt water is awesome! 🙂

    • Duff – it’s not only awesome, but it’s ESSENTIAL. I tried to live in AZ once. It didn’t work; I couldn’t bear being away from a coast.

  3. I hear ya! I went to college In Pennsylvania and hated being away from the ocean. It’s the good life…even in the summer months when we are inundated with visitors.
